Sibelius Hall in Lahti has to be one of the most stunning places we’ve ever played — a huge, classical wooden concert hall named after Finland’s great composer, Jean Sibelius.

You can feel the history in the room and the way every note rings through the space. It’s an incredible setting for Queen’s music.

We rolled up in a tour bus that could’ve doubled as a small hotel, which was quite a sight. Inside, it was all smiles — a brilliant crew (as always), and the biggest problem of the day was choosing which amazing dressing room to use.

The catering was top-notch too, and eating dinner while looking out over that beautiful lake — or sea, really — was something special. The show itself was just magic.

The crowd were fantastic, full of energy and warmth. Finland has that lovely mix of calm and passion — everyone’s chilled, yet they really get into it. After the gig I went out for a few drinks, met some great people, and tried a few local spirits… I couldn’t tell you what they were, or even what they tasted like, but they were great fun all the same.

All in all, an unforgettable night in a breathtaking venue. Can’t wait to come back. – Al Kronka
